RAV4 Details

Toyota’s 2016 model year design for the popular RAV4 provides some stylistic updates and new features while also retaining the core reliability and comfort that defines the vehicle. That means you can still count on its light but tough design, as well as its traction and power. At the same time, though, there are a few new features to really look out for.

Visual Additions

The new additions include a new color option, Hot Lava (4R8), as well as 17 inch super chrome alloy wheels, and an optional height-adjustable power liftgate on the XLE models. The new year’s models are also retiring the Shoreline Blue shade.

Fuel Efficiency

Looking beyond the visual additions, the 2016 RAV4 continues to compete with a fuel efficiency that averages 24 miles per gallon in the city and 31 on the highway. This makes it competitive with many other compact utility vehicles, crossovers, and other automobiles that appeal to a similar demographic with regard to fuel expenditures. At the same time, though, its MSRP remains well below many of the vehicles it competes with for fuel efficiency.

Warranty and Other Features

The 2016 RAV4 also comes with Toyota’s standard 3 year/36,000 mile warranty, as well as standard Bluetooth and a six speed shiftable transmission, making it easier than ever to control its performance and put power where you want it under all kinds of driving conditions. This means you get the most out of its 2.5L engine, and its five person seating still accommodates as many passengers as the RAV4’s design ever did.

Wrap-Up

Toyota continues to offer the RAV4 in a FWD standard model, but there is an all-wheel drive option available for those who want to get the absolute most out of their vehicle’s performance, no matter what the weather conditions look like. Opting for the AWD model does change some of the estimates for performance, such as fuel efficiency, but it also provides an edge to the handling that works wonders off-road and in inclement conditions.
